Your vehicle manufacturer recommends air filter replacement at normal and extreme intervals based on your driving behavior. If you routinely drive in particularly challenging environments — on dust or dirty roads — consider using the extreme recommended interval. Even if it’s not clear when the last time your air filter was replaced, your technician can easily tell if it’s clogged with debris and dust.

The engine air filters capture airborne contaminants such as dust and dirt before they can enter into the engine. Basically, the system includes a pleated paper element and a foam or paper breather element to capture contaminants in the air which coming from the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) valve. A clogged, dirty engine air filter system prevents sufficient clean air from getting into the engine as well as can contribute to compact acceleration. Manufacturer recommends replacement at particular intervals which may be shorter if your vehicle is in dangerous conditions. After a visual inspection, Mr. Lube technicians can install brand new engine air filter system parts as required.
